Tour Plan

Day 1: Agadir - Taliouine - Agdez - Zagora

Your 3 days desert tour holiday in Agadir starts with an early morning pick up of 8: 00 AM in your hotel. We begin by driving eastwards, through the Anti-Atlas Mountains. We go through Taliouine, so-called capital of saffron, where one can really know local life by the sight of the dry and red earth covering the fields.

Then we set off in the theatrical scenery of the Tizi n-Tinifift Pass, towards the Draa Valley. When we arrive we meet the great expanse of green of the kasbahs and palm groves--a splendid foaming to the rest of the stone. Furthermore and last but not the least, we reach Zagora, the formal Gateway of the Sahara, where we have dinner and get into our high quality guesthouse to have dinner and to sleep one night before further enter the desert tomorrow.

Day 2: Zagora - Tamegroute - M'Hamid - Erg Chegaga Dunes :

Having eaten a good breakfast, we head deep south. We start with the historic village of Tamegroute which has an ancient Koranic library that has manuscripts several centuries old. We also get to visit the pottery workshops, which are traditional green and they are also a family heritage.

Then we drive to M'Hamid where the tarmac road stops and the actual desert life starts! After a short time, our 4x4 cars start off-road to the rough and rocky land, heading straight to the massive Erg Chegaga dunes. I recall the silence upon our first approach to it; they are enormous indeed. In the end, we reach our luxury desert camp Morocco. You ride your camel up to the top of a dune to have the magical sunset, then a dinner with gourmet dishes and stare at the best desert camp in Merzouga Morocco.

Day 3: Erg Chegaga - Iriqui Lake - Taznakht - Agadir :

Get up early in order to see the amazing desert sunrise- a memorable experience that characterizes this 3 days desert tour in Agadir. We then set off in our 4x4 on the difficult northern road after a last camp breakfast. First we follow the old Paris-Dakar racing route, across the expansive, desiccated dry bed of Lake Iriqui, a totally alien, lunar terrain.

Then we come to Foum Zguid, and proceed on to the much-famed carpet-making town of Taznakht. In this case, we get to observe the finely-maidened Amazigh carpets, a fine local art. And then we get back to the coast restarting at the end of the afternoon at Agadir bringing to an end your powerful, short, and luxurious desert immersion with Luxury Tours in Morocco.
