Day 2: Guided Tour of Fes :

Following a refreshing breakfast, you will be taken on a crucial walking tour of Fes, the cultural and spiritual center of Morocco in the company of a local, professional guide. After that we visit Royal Palace gate and the Mellah (Jewish quarter) and then we drive to a high fortress where we see the panoramic view of the ancient city- this view always takes my breath away and gives me the picture of the complexity of the medina.

Then we explore the depths of the UNESCO-named medina, the largest car free city in the world. Passing by the well-known tanneries of leather, the strong, corps-like smell is a sensual bookmark of Fes. Then we have a look at the Quaraouine University, the oldest university in the world still functional and at the lovely Bou Inania Madrasa. This is a culture and history immersion day that would be ideal preparation of the rest of your 10 day tour that will begin at Fes.

Day 3: Fes - Ifrane - Middle Atlas - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Sahara:

We drive away out of the complications of the Imperial city into the cool coolness of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, the so-called Little Switzerland with its unexpected European style buildings, it is always worth stopping there by the photos! Then we head towards the cedar forest where the naughty Barbary Macaques reside, a spot of sheer, happy nature which numerous visitors remember with fondness.

Then we start down to Midelt to eat lunch and then proceed with the huge serpentine trail of palm trees in the great Ziz Valley. I had once found the afternoon sun falling on the palms in such a manner that the grove was a vast carpet of emeralds, and it made a sight worth seeing. Then, when the sun sets down we come to Merzouga. You and your faithful camel await to cross over the massive Erg Chebbi dunes to your elegant desert luxury camp Merzouga Morocco, a best luxury camp in Sahara Morocco where a fine dinner and Berber music await uninterrupted by the silent starlit sky.

Day 4: Merzouga Sahara - Rissani - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley :

Rise early in the morning and see the memorable Saharan sunrise, a calm colored scene which indeed fulfills your luxury camp Merzouga experience. We break our breakfast and leave the dunes and come to Rissani, which is the historical trade center of the Tafilalet region. When, however, it happens to be market day, you will encounter the bustling trade, a very real and very natural cultural place that has a way of reminding us of the caravan past of the place.

Then, we move in the direction of the gorgeous Todra Gorges. The river has cut an immense canyon, and the experience of walking between the very high, 300 meters, red cliffs is awe-inspiring, I can recall seeing rock-climbers climb up the sheer walls, highlighting the vastness of the gully. Lastly, it is then espoused to the theatric scenery of Boumalne Dades where we stop to take photographs of the famous rock features, the Monkey Fingers, and then arrive at your serene panoramic Riad in the valley of the Dades.

Day 5: Dades Valley - Rose Valley - Ait Benhaddou - High Atlas - Marrakech :

We set out to drive in the so-called Road of 1000 Kasbahs. First we go through the Valley of Roses, at Kelaat M’Gouna, this is a very pretty fragrant country, prettier in spring. Then there are large palm groves of Skoura, then Ouarzazate, which is the entrance to the desert and the cinema.

Then we come to the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah which is a UNESCO site where numerous popular films were shot. A stroll through its winding lanes and the sun on the ancient mud walls is a strong experience as it takes one many centuries back. Therefore, we start off post lunch with the spectacular climb over the High Atlas Mountains through the pass of the Tizi n'Tichka (2,260m), which takes us to Marrakech in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Guided Tour of Marrakech :

With a skilled local guide, today you can discover the finest of Marrakech and it makes your luxury tours Marrakech a full and educative experience. We begin by looking at the gorgeous Bahia Palace and the old Ben Youssef Madrasa with the complex Zellij tilework and cedar-artisanism. Next, we dive into the colorful Souks of the medina whose fragrances of spices and noises of trade make us feel an electric and real touch.

Then we are in the bustling Jemaa El-Fna square in full swing. We then proceed to the relaxing and most renowned Majorelle Garden, a bright cobalt blue garden which stands out on the city of red in its essence. This is a well paced exploration of Marrakech which offers an ideal sample of the beauty of this city.

Day 7: Marrakech - Essaouira :

We abandon heat of the interior of Marrakech and heading westwards to the cool Atlantic air of Essaouira. Just en route we usually visit the renowned Argan trees and in good luck, you may even see the rare sight of goats hanging in high trees!

It is easy to sense the contrast when one arrives: Essaouira is easy going and free. We therefore spend the afternoon in the beautiful fishing port, the ancient ramparts with old cannons, and the whitewashed and hence peaceful medina- another UNESCO site. The gull noises and the aroma of the seashores are instantly relaxing, providing the perfect contrast to the city life.

Day 8: Essaouira - Casablanca :

Let us have one last day in Essaouira, maybe to watch the fishing-boats arriving or to walk along the beach, and then we will start on our way northwards. Next, we go by the seaside road to the north, to the economic powerhouse of Casablanca, the financial capital of Morocco.

Afternoon will be spent at the monumental Hassan II Mosque, which is one of the largest mosques in the world and the part of it is located over the Atlantic, which is a spectacular location. The size and intricacy of the workmanship are simply overwhelming to the beholder, standing within, an opportunity that enshrines the contemporary aspiration of the kingdom. And lastly, we drive up the Corniche and have a photo at the well known Ricks Cafe.

Day 9: Casablanca - Rabat - Chefchaouen :

We start the day with the direction towards the North towards Rabat, political capital of Morocco and one of the Imperial Cities. First we see the major attractions the historic Kasbah of the Udayas, a lovely fortress with spectacular scenery and the imposing Hassan Tower and Mohammed V Mausoleum.

Then our 10 day sightseeing trip in Fes takes an inland direction towards the spectacular Rif Mountains. It is a build up leading to the top where we get to Chefchaouen, the Blue City. As soon as you turn up, you get to the hotel and you can sense the silence and artistic air of the blue alleys that makes this town so effortlessly photogenic and delightful.
